Installation
TBarCode SDK for Windows
Requirements
Operating Systems
TBarCode SDK supports the following Windows versions:
- Windows 11
- Windows Server 2022 and 2025
The setup installs 32-bit and 64-bit components and the required Microsoft Visual C++ runtime. Other Windows versions may also work, but they have not been tested by TEC-IT.
.NET Versions and IDEs
| Assembly | Compatible frameworks | Available through |
|---|---|---|
TECIT.TBarCode.dll |
.NET Framework 4.5 or later; includes the Framework controls. | SDK setup and NuGet |
TECIT.TBarCode.Std.dll |
.NET Core 2.0 or later, .NET 5 or later, and .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later; barcode class without the Framework controls. | SDK setup and NuGet |
Download and Setup
Before installing the .NET API feature, make sure .NET Framework 4.5 or later is installed. The TBarCode SDK setup does not install .NET.
Download TBarCode SDK for Windows and run the setup application. Depending on the selected features, the setup installs:
- TBarCode OCX, including its user manual and API reference;
- TBarCode Library, including its developer manual, API reference, and samples; and
- TBarCode .NET, including this developer manual, the API reference, and samples.
Administrative rights are required for the standard system-wide installation.
Installation Path
By default, the SDK setup installs the .NET assemblies and native libraries in these directories:
- 64-bit applications:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\TEC-IT\TBarCode\11.17 - 32-bit applications:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\TEC-IT\TBarCode\11.17
Both directories contain TECIT.TBarCode.dll and TECIT.TBarCode.Std.dll.
Choose the directory that matches your application architecture. The
assemblies use TBarCode11.dll for x86 and
TBarCode11_x64.dll for x64.
NuGet as an Alternative
As an alternative to referencing an assembly installed by the SDK setup, you can add the TECIT.TBarCode NuGet package to your Visual Studio project. NuGet selects the appropriate assembly for the project's target framework.
The NuGet package adds the native Windows libraries to the project output. The target computer must have the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable installed for the application's architecture. NuGet does not install this runtime.
